Does the aluminum cladding on your home look faded or not shiny?
The reason for this is oxidization. It can be cured buy using an automotive de-oxidizing cream. Simply apply and polish. I use a product called Gel-gloss which is made for polishing acrylics. It will make your aluminum fascia, trough and doors look like they are new.

I talked a bit of soffit venting. People are asking how do I tell if there working? Well the easiest way to tell is to go into your attic and take a look around the edges. If you do not see any light from that area, you are a victim of poor ventilation. If you can see a little light you had better work on opening up the spaces between between the rafters/trusses. Use Moore vents between the underside of the roof decking and the insulation, to allow air flow.

Your box needs to breath too. Houses since the early 1980's are constructed with 100% vented soffit ventilation. When you look up under the overhangs of your house you are looking at the soffit. Houses built before the 80's had plywood soffit and vent grates were installed to allow air to move into the attic space. In attempt to beautify their homes many people have installed vented aluminum or vinyl soffit. This makes the house look a lot cleaner but I have found that in many inspections that the installers of the vented soffit did nothing to increase the air flow to the roof.

Some are big. Some are small. No matter what shape it has finally taken, the dwelling that you live in is a basic box, or a series of boxes. Built plumb, level and square it should provide adequate safe living for you and your family for a long period of time.
